Principal and Managing Partner, Azure Corporation
The best there is at:
Planning and managing complex physical asset strategies. Having directed the national requirements for architecture project management for Corporate real estate portfolios in excess of 25 million sq. ft., Marlene is the best there is at effective capital investment and strategic implementation management.
Marlene has the rare talent of being able to conceptualize and deliver results by design. True to her innate personal attribute as a planner, her education and career choices were mapped with a purposeful intent to develop the capability to analyze business assets from an integrated perspective. She pursued the accumulative expertise in planning, operations, financial asset management, corporate and international strategy.
Marlene initially sought an understanding of results by design completing an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo.
First interning in the U.S. with a prominent real estate developer Dr. William Konrad, Marlene learned the planning and economics of Real Estate investment. The next phase of her plan was to gain first-hand experience in operations and execution disciplines. Engagements with Consumers Gas and CIBC, two of Canada’s largest and most complex owner occupiers of varying forms of real estate, Marlene was charged with analyzing their owned and leased portfolios, leasing negotiation and administration, retail, warehouse and logistics site design and construction project management.
With an operational foundation in place, Marlene’s next phase of her plan was to experience the complexities of corporate real estate management. With Nexacor and Bell Canada, she managed and integrated the, at times contrasting, requirements of the operating Divisions and the Corporate strategies and financial objectives.
With a history of leading successful implementations, Marlene was promoted to Director FlexSpace, a Bell Canada key strategic initiative to implement nationally a new architectural and technology-integrated concept. Marlene’s accomplishments were rewarded in part joining an exclusive group of high achievers sponsored by Bell Canada for an MBA. Marlene completed her Master of Business Administration, from Queens University Executive Program.
In 2005 Marlene joined Azure Corporation as Managing Partner, the prominent business strategy consultancy she co-founded. Under Marlene’s stewardship she has continued her record of results by design with successful strategic implementations to the benefit of Azure’s clients. She is also Co-creator of the enabling ideas® Community of experts and remains an Owner of Azure Corporation.
